Tony O’Halloran
2015/16

Tony, upon completion of the BioInnovate program in 2016, leveraged the Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund mechanism to cofound and become CTO of Aurigen Medical with fellow BioInnovate graduate, Dr John Thompson. The company continues to develop a novel cardiac implant technology to treat persistent Atrial Fibrillation and is currently seeking substantial Series A investment towards their goal of completing a first in human trial in 2020. Aurigen Medical has successfully gained international notoriety by winning the 2017 EIT Headstart Award and being selected to present at the prestigious EuroPCR Innovators Day in May 2018 in Paris. Aurigen also recently placed first out of 1,280 companies to win a €2.5million SME Instrument funding grant from EU’s Horizon2020 to help the company quickly scale its novel innovation.
