During BioInnovate, Siobhán partnered with Sinéad Hughes to develop a clinical need in foetal monitoring. The resultant project which secured SFI TIDA funding in 2017, will be further developed in partnership with the translational Medical Device Department in NUIG, the national INFANT centre and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA. Siobhán is currently a lecturer in The Master of Engineering (ME) programme in Biomedical Engineering (NUIG) which uses the BioDesign process to develop advanced technical knowledge and skills with real-world implementation of these in terms of innovation, clinical adoption and commercialisation. Both Siobhan and her BioInnovate partner Sinead have recently been awarded an Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund grant to continue their innovative technology development in the female health space.
