Patrick McGreal

Patrick McGreal
BSc. (Hons), MISCP, PDip
Vascular Team

Patrick is highly motivated to improve patient health related outcome and quality of life. He graduated with first class honours in physiotherapy from the University of Limerick in 2013. Since, he has gained clinical experience in the field of orthopaedics and musculoskeletal medicine across multiple healthcare settings in Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. Patrick has strived to improve patient outcome in clinical practice by combining evidence based interventions with clinical expertise to provide holistic patient centred care within the multi-disciplinary team. He is innately empathetic. His clinical role has allowed him to observe the overall patient and clinician journey helping him to gain valuable insights into where poor patient outcome exists. To date he has used his skills and expertise to develop patient centred services and care pathways that target the identified factors associated with poor prognostic indicators, resulting in improved patient outcome and service delivery. His desire however is to create innovative solutions to solve significant unmet clinical needs. This desire has led him to expand his development outside of the clinical realm, completing post-graduate study in Project Management and Human Centred Design. Patrick believes that a true understanding of a clinical need can lead to transformative solutions that can that positively impact the patient, clinician and overall healthcare ecosystem. He is excited become a BioInnovate Fellow to develop the skills, knowledge, framework and network needed to innovate a successful medical solution that has the potential to transform clinical practice. He believes that the program offers a unique opportunity to combine his expertise with that of other highly skilled individuals from different backgrounds to ultimately improve healthcare outcomes. In his spare time Patrick enjoys spending time with family and friends, trail running, surfing, hiking and travelling.
