Saleem is a medical doctor with more than 20 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degree: (MBChB) from the Medical University of Southern Africa in 1998. He also has a Diploma in Anaesthetics from the College of Anaesthetists of South Africa: DA(SA) obtained in 2003 and a specialist qualification in Radiation Oncology from the College of Radiation Oncologists of South Africa: FC Rad Onc(SA) obtained in 2011. Saleem has worked as a consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist for the past 8 years. He has supervised and assisted with training and teaching of registrars and junior doctors. Saleem loves to travel and has practised medicine in South Africa, Ireland and New Zealand. Working in different countries has provided him with valuable insight into the health care systems of both developing and developed countries and has fuelled his desire to help reduce the global burden of disease and improve the quality of healthcare for patients on a global scale. Saleem is eager to participate in the BioInnovate Fellowship programme and contribute his experience and expertise to help develop innovative medical technology that will have a meaningful impact on the lives of patients.
