Deirdre, a Member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists, graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. After gaining foundational experience in the areas of acute care, out-patient and general rehabilitation in Ireland and the UK, she relocated to Boston, MA where she was a member of the interdisciplinary teams in one of the largest rehab hospitals in the US, affiliated with Mass General. She worked in a variety of rehabilitation settings across the USA including California, Florida, New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania. She subsequently put this experience to good use as a management team member for a number of rehabilitation companies focusing on analysing existing processes and designing ways to facilitate the continuance of best rehabilitation practices under varying reimbursement level scenarios. Deirdre was managing a multimillion dollar budget and a staff of 40 people across 12 facilities by the time she successfully transitioned to a project manager role with a clinical research organisation in Los Angeles. She provided clinical expertise and project management for clinical trials assisting with biomedical product design and development. Upon her return to Ireland, she became a Director and Manager in a financial consulting company. She has worked with client organizations to promote the company as a solution for best practices for financial services and to drive efficient workflow and model development processes. In her spare time, Deirdre enjoys yoga, hiking and spending time with her family. During her time in California, Deirdre was involved in leading a team of hikers to train and successfully achieve their goal of ascending and descending Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous USA, in a single day.
