Richie has over 24 years industry experience. Having begun his career in the textile industry where he spent 7 years as a technician, he then moved to the semi-conductor industry as a customer engineer working in the Intel plant in Leixlip for 2 years. Richie moved to the medical device sector in 2003 and has worked in the Endoscopy Process Development team within Boston Scientific for the past 15 years. He has been a core team member in the successful launch of 7 products to the Endoscopy market. He relocated to the US for 18 months with his young family to work on the development and subsequent launch of a Boston Scientific direct visualisation Endoscopy device. Richie graduated from Sligo IT in 2012 with a BSc in Manufacturing Management and has certificates in electronic servicing. He has also completed extensive training in areas such as Process Development and validation, Design for six sigma, Lean manufacturing and Project management. In his 15 years with BSC, Richie has developed a network of marketing, R&D, operations and sales contacts as well as a host of medical professional contacts across Ireland, Europe and the U.S. Richie is extremely passionate about developing products that have substantial positive impact on the lives of patients. He is excited about the prospect of embarking on BioInnovate journey were he hopes to use all his experience to develop an innovate product that truly meets the needs of the end user!
