Formatively a clinician, and more recently a Bio-Engineer, Roisin has first-hand experience of clinical challenges, of medical device concept development and post market adverse events. Now focussed on leveraging strong clinical, management and medical device technical background as part of a small dynamic team that will deliver a commercially successful healthcare solution, benefiting both patients and health care professionals. Graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist, spending early years working in large teaching hospitals across a range of disciplines before starting, developing and successfully exiting her own practice, during which she developed strong business acumen. Roisin specialised in biomechanics and musculoskeletal medicine, and has acted as a professional witness in this field. More recently graduated with first class honours in MSc Bioengineering, where the principal project focus was on cartilage and bone, in addition to medical device design. Since the change of career direction Roisin focused on medical device evaluation, both as concept/early stage devices and in a regulatory context as an assessor in medical device vigilance within the HPRA. Experience in evaluation of patents, regulatory documentation and technical writing. Published in a peer reviewed Technology and Healthcare journal. Currently Chairperson of the Volvo Round Ireland Race 2018, leading a team of volunteers in the delivery of an international offshore yacht race and festival event. Formerly Executive member of Irish Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice and acted as the Professional Body representative on the Primary Care Physiotherapy Working Group. An open sea swimmer and outdoors person in her spare time. Roisin is looking forward to bringing together her skills, drive and passion to create a new entity in the med tech space.
