Katie Nolan
BSc Hons
Neurology Team

Katie is a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in improving healthcare outcomes for patients. Starting her undergraduate studies in University College Dublin as the recipient of a High Achiever Award, she graduated with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy four years later. Katie then worked as a staff-grade Physiotherapist in a large acute hospital in Singapore. There, she gained invaluable experience using high-tech therapy equipment in their state-of-the-art rehabilitation department. She subsequently managed a busy musculoskeletal patient caseload in a high-volume private practice in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Her experience there led to her next role: touring North America with Cirque du Soleil as a member of the Performance Medicine team of the “Alegria“ show. This involved developing, implementing and managing projects and strategies pertaining to emergency response preparedness and injury prevention in a high performance, dynamic environment. In each city to which the show toured, she built strong relationships with service providers to establish and maintain extensive medical and supply chain networks. Since moving home to Ireland in 2020, Katie has been busy working full-time as a Senior Physiotherapist in highly specialised interdisciplinary palliative care and spinal surgery settings. She also obtained a first-class honours Masters degree in Public Health, majoring in epidemiology and biostatistics, via University College Cork in 2022, and worked with professional athletes competing in the Mountain Bike World Cup throughout Europe. Katie enjoys all things outdoors and the company of family and friends. She is looking forward to bringing her global clinical experience to BioInnovate to collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds to identify and address unmet clinical needs.
