Suraj Govindaraju holds a bachelor degree in Aeronautical engineering from VTU, India. He comes with five years of experience in the medical device industry. He started his career with Lycan 3D, a startup in the field of 3D printing. He was responsible for design and development of 3D printers, printing services, research projects etc. Then he moved to Criador Design Labs, where he was involved in the development of medical devices. His responsibilities included design, prototyping, testing, marketing, customer and vendor relations etc.
He later moved to work for Becton Dickinson and Company (BD) as Design Engineer. He worked on sustenance engineering and new product development and understood all the activities needed to sustain a device in the market and to generate revenue from the same. He worked on projects involving new product introduction, new product registration, regulatory compliance in territories (China, Japan, US etc.), material change etc., while gaining a solid understanding of medical device standards, testing, regulatory compliance, design controls and DHF management etc. He also represented the team in audits, both internal and external. He was awarded the “consistent exceptional performer” award for his contributions and was promoted to Senior Design Engineer. He was also heavily involved on the innovation front, participating in finding unmet needs and ideas for the next generation of medical devices. He has filed five Invention Disclosures, with one of them in the process of patent filing.
Through BioInnovate, Suraj is looking forward to working with a network of highly talented and motived individuals to find and address clinical unmet needs.
