Edel is a proud Galwegian passionate about regional development, commercial partnerships and developing tailored solutions to address unmet client and market needs. Edel has over 20 years cross sectoral experience spanning public, private and global consultancy sector across Ireland, Central Europe, USA and Australia. She is a collaborative, results driven leader skilled in international business development, project management, investment pitching and cultivating commercial partnerships across multi agency stakeholder groups. Edel’s portfolio career began in financial services where she honed her expertise in developing bespoke agile solutions for global pharmaceutical and multinational corporations. Her responsibilities included new business development, client/market needs analysis, risk management and managing all aspects of regulatory, reporting, and insurance operational needs for global pharmaceutical, technological, and petrochemical MNCs. Her next career chapter was within the public and consultancy sector focusing on FDI, inward investment, commercial partnerships and delivering commercially viable solutions to meet client and sectoral unmet needs. Here her roles in international business development enabled her support clients in articulating their value proposition, competitive bidding, and investment pitching. Edel has successfully pitched to investor panels, prepared extensive feasibility studies, and facilitated investor site visits creating a pipeline of investment opportunities. Edel has project managed six figures + operational budgets and supported key stakeholders in the development of grants strategies and match funding programmes across public /private partners. Edel is an experienced Project Manager having led the successful bid process and long-term stakeholder engagement of numerous major events. Edel is a skilled communicator adept at cultivating strategic partnerships and has spoken at numerous national and international conferences.
Edel’s growth mindset and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholder groups has supported the organic development of ecosystems fostering knowledge sharing, triggering innovation, and growing concepts from initial ideation, feasibility to final commercial delivery. Edel is also a part time beef farmer and passionate about the promotion of Mental Health and Wellbeing education and awareness.
